What is offset printing?

Offset printing is a printing method that involves transferring ink from a printing plate to a rubber blanket and then to the printing surface. It is called “offset” printing because the ink is not transferred directly from the plate to the printing surface.

Why use offset printing?

People often use this type of print to produce large quantities of high-quality documents, such as magazines, books, brochures, and manuals. It is also a common choice for printing business cards, envelopes, letterhead, and other business stationery.

The printing method is also capable of printing packaging materials, such as boxes and labels, as well as promotional materials, such as banners and posters. It is a versatile printing method that can print on various surfaces, including paper, cardboard, and plastic, and can produce prints in a wide range of sizes and shapes.

What's an example of using offset printing?

Heading into the 2020 pandemic, Birkenstock was selling their products in record numbers. To enhance their customer experience and ensure new users were properly caring for their footwear, Birkenstock included a double sided 5×7 postcard to explain the basics.
